I'm surprised the glitterball ident hasn't been deployed post-2009, given it's pretty timeless and doesn't have the problem of the Television Centre Strictly ident. Then again, it's not the most exciting of idents.

So, just re-film it then. It can't have cost that much to make, surely.

Surely that ident only worked because of the circle / donut at Televison Centre? You couldn't really replicate it elsewhere, unless you digitally manipulate the inner curve at Broadcasting House, for example (like Albert Square is seen as a circle in the 2010 EastEnders' ident).

Is Strictly likely to return to TC1 once it reopens? The ident could potentially come back then.

The doughnut area will look quite different by then...that said, even the re-edited EastEnders ident still has cast members that have long departed visible without squinting too hard (including Lucy Beale who has since been recast and then killed off), so who knows.

I was rather hoping that BBC One would have new idents by that point... Wishful thinking, I know.

Which would make no sense anyway, given it's not made there and has nothing to do with the programme.
