Why phone numbers on colour bars aren't always a great idea

Although it's interesting that they include the country dialling code +44

Not really. Handy if you're lining with a contribution from abroad.

Wasn't there a story of the BBC snooker coverage falling off air on one occasion in the distant past? Bars with CAR's phone number appeared for literally seconds until the network director cut away, they got dozens of calls from punters.

Something for the Weekend. BT Tower bars. CAR couldn't get through to extend the switch because the line was busy...

The One Show is ten years old today. BBC Archive have done a nice video of a few of the past presenters' first days. Not sure what 'Rewind' is though, is that a thing?

The first version of The One Show was like a completely different show than the well established version we have today.

Still not sure why Jason Manford presented it, can't see why he went for it, and I can't see why he was picked.

Didn't realise Myleene Klass only hosted for a month according to a graphic on that video. Also, introducing the show from behind the sofa - evidently that idea didn't catch on.

Seems to be a 14 month gap between Manford and Matt there which isn't how I remember it.

No, it was only a few months: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-12268771

Wasn't the original One Show designed to be an updated version of Nationwide?

It certainly bared more similarities than the current format which bares more similarities to That's Life.

It was, and the emphasis on stories from around the UK from the presenters of early editions seems to confirm that.

I remember Chris Moyles used to call it Blue Peter for adults, and that was before Matt joined.
