BBC1 seems to be running fifteen minutes early tonight. Anyone know why? With that sort of underrun surely a filler programme would have been better?
Goodness me, that's pretty inexcusable. Presumably because two contestants pulled out of The Voice hours before the live transmission. Surely they could have padded out the two hours, or threw some kind of filler in.
Running late because of an over-running live broadcast is one thing, but running early because of an early finish should never happen. Especially when it's prime time Saturday night.

Indeed and if you knew in advance - albeit two hours - I'd have thought fifteen minutes could be filled. They surely could have added five minutes to the national news and additional trailers. Then five minutes to the lottery (assuming they had a live guest) and they'd have perhaps been back in time - or close enough.
Does BBC1 have a suitable filler programme these days? You can't show Coast on BBC1
Isn't it Nigel Slater's Simple Suppers? Probably nothing a suitable for a Saturday night. They should have some Saturday night friendly "best of Strictly" or something available.
They obviously didn't fancy running a bunch of trails like after the Strictly cockup a few years back. The lack of filler must be a policy to try and maintain viewers, better to run the schedule early than risk people disappearing. A shame really, a quick bloopers show would probably have held the audience.
Pretty poor form to run early, but not the first time they've done it, though usually it's in the post-news slot when a schedule change may have been made.
If it were BBC2 they'd be Coast to fill the slot and surely they could have either padded out The Voice (an encore of the 4 acts the judges put through perhaps - not great granted but given the circumstances acceptable) or padded out the schedule. Even adding a 30 minute show and delaying Casualty and the rest by 15-minutes is surely preferably to airing it 15 minutes early, especially as Casualty had seemingly been scheduled to catch viewers at the end of the football (though that over run a bit itself).
I'm sure The Voice could have been padded out by an extra 15 minutes. Not all in one go, but longer interviews with coaches and contestants during the course of the show could have filled the time. Especially as they were using viewer tweets, I'm pretty sure they could have found a few more.
