Whatever, it was back on the BBC 1 junction at 21:00 hrs this evening

NOTE: Its comes and goes, I don't know why etc but it does.

Perhaps they only want certain programmes to be associated with the phrase "Channel of the Year".

"Whatever?" I'm not sure how you intended to come across but I interpret that as quite rude and dismissive. If it did reappear last night at 9pm, so be it, but the fact remains that the tagline disappeared for a few days. Not sure why my observation was contentious.

You gotta love NE & Cumbria - close to seven years since its discontinuation and they're still using the old version of Forest.

Did they not also continue using Moon for a long time after it was withdrawn nationally?

Which is great, because I think the older versions of the idents have aged better than the newer ones.

I really hope BBC One ditches Kites and Bicycles soon. They're getting very boring. The circles as a concept still works well, but they really need new idents and to spice up the graphics a bit. It's poor that the flagship channel of the BBC hasn't really been overhauled in a decade!

I agree. There's no need to pay a design company half a million to come up with a new concept - just four or five new circle idents would be fine to freshen it up.

I've never really liked Kites. The white logo against the predominantly light background of the sky never really worked for me.

That's a terrible picture to use. If you watch the actual ident on Youtube, you can see the logo very clearly, and it doesn't look anything like it does in the picture you've used.

I would welcome the return of Moon, it is/was a lovely ident.
