Has something changed with the BBC's SD services? None of them are filling the whole width of the screen, with pillar boxing evident on network material, but BBC1 regions except London were all full screen for the Inside Out opts. HD is fine. It looks like the SD picture is being slightly squashed rather than cropped.

Edit: Should say I'm talking about DSat.

Some audio issues during the announcement over the credits of Eastenders. Lots of intermittent interference whilst Dean Lydiate was announcing.

And it's continuing into the announcement into Panorama.

And into Panorama. Sounds like somebody's ripping sellotape off things while he's talking.

It did, indeed, sound very "live," though it's hard to imagine what could be making sounds in the booth but couldn't be fixed in the course of an hour.

Is Sophie Raworth the new permanent host of Crimewatch or just doing it until someone better comes along?

The trailer for this week's The Voice features an old 'BBC tv' ident at the beginning.

A small observation but the "Channel of the Year" tagline has now been removed from the BBC One idents, it would appear.

That would be because Channel 4 won it this year.

In that case, you have to assume that the ident into Football Focus with special continuity announcement from Motty was pre-built by somebody who didn't get the memo!

BBC ONE NI's experiencing a few problems, it seems. After Lifeline , it jumped to a menu without any accompanying programme information. The CA speaks and the menu continues to play for around a minute before opting to the Network feed.

That's actually a different award, BBC1 won it at the Edinburgh Television Festival in August.
