I'm thinking some of these new idents might have a very short life, as I doubt clips of hangover pills will be very relevant even in a weeks time, let alone at the end of January.
I still think it seems quite a mess to use special idents and normal idents at the same time when the styles of them are completely different. The two styles couldn't be further apart.
A fourth sting spotted on BBC One Northern Ireland at lunchtime. Looked vaguely like green dirt being sucked up by a hoover - with the end of the hoover pipe forming the 'o' of 'one'.
Looks like vacuuming up the Christmas tree needles...

It was the Next/Later graphic that I saw at lunch - not the sting. Wasn't recogniseable as Christmas tree needles on that graphic. Definitely more obvious on the sting.

But not in scotland, you would think that would be used straight away.

Scotland are using the stings to fill gaps, if local promos running times dont add up.

I believe the idea is that they'll often be used on weekends...

I agree. I stick by the idea that they could easily do an ident without a lead in with a little spinning globe replacing the 'o' and a more appropriate mix of the music to fit into news/current affairs so that the old idents don't have to appear at all. I'm hoping that they're testing the water with these and that they could develop them into a full package.
