The strange thing about that, Scotland had ECP coming out of Eastenders, the news update and then that menu, which seems a bit of an overkill?

Lotto machine failed tonight then on BBC One. Draw has taken place off screen.

Looked like one of the "tubes"(?) containing the balls failed to open.

Repeat of the Bob Monkhouse incident from 1996 then Must be the first time it's failed since then too!

But just not as entertaining.

Too many balls. What colour have they made the new ones in the 50s?

There was that time the Thunderball got stuck half-way out. Can't find a clip of it, but remember it to have been a bit of a mess! And the Millennium Eve draws, which were a shambles too (with Alan blaming Gaby, which is amusing given that she was presenting for this latest failure too)!

Of course back in those days all the draws were televised and a failure was a massive event which they had to resolve on air. These days more draws take place off air than on air so if they can't show it, nobody cares they'll just fix it after the programme has finished.

No sign of tonights actual draw on either the Lottery or BBC website, but no surprise once again nobody actually won it.
