This. It isn't really news, I wouldn't be surprised if ITV and Sky didn't mention it. And the papers should have said you can find out who won inside, not give out the info on the front cover.
Well one of the main headlines at Six yesterday was that it was the final of Bake Off that night. If ITV did similar they'd be slated for about the next 10 years, but the BBC some how manage to get away with it and retain their reputation.
Bearing in mind the extraordinary times the Corporation is in, and the considerable publicity this series has obtained, not withstanding the outcome, featuring on the News does seem relevant, more so now considering it's viewing figures last night.
Rival organisations have made play of the series, as has been mentioned, so it'd be extraordinary if the BBC didn't.
The X Factor has frequently been reported by the BBC too in News Bulletins so there really isn't a case to answer on that front.
Some people have a far too narrow version of what is news too, something that's hard to break.
I've been away for a few weeks but can't see it mentioned - the return of the EastEnders ident from their anniversary, albeit heavily-edited.
That returned a few weeks ago, but your just remind me I need to recored copy of it so thanks for the reminded for 8pm
It's possible to see at least three characters (possibly more) in the wideshot on that ident that aren't actually in the soap anymore. In fact one of the characters in question is actually dead.
Should there be a thread for BBC NI presentation, seeing as there is one for BBC Scotland pres?
Wow, nice work BBC NI! Recolouring that can't have been an easy task.
Have they done anything different to the audio on this ident? As it was originally a World Cup ident I seem to remember you could vaguely hear the crowd shout 'England' in a reverse of the signature three notes (low to high) as the logo formed up.
