I think we can agree both look pretty stupid with the BBC One logo stuck in the middle, but Scotland's does look worse with the Tonight half way down. Doesn't help that the nation name is in there too, just to add to the clutter.

This slide was clearly designed for a simple now/next and doesn't work well when used like this. I don't really care for the "Your Saturday night" either - kinda patronising.

What on Earth is wrong with the Spotlight Special trail end board currently being used on BBC ONE NI and BBC TWO NI? It looks like it has been recorded with a heavily degraded VHS recorder.

The rest of the trail is in the usual 576i quality.

BBC ONE NI has finally started using 'Channel of the Year' branded idents.

I was logged in to Twitter earlier and noticed that Comedy Central were giving full commentary on The Great British Bake Off. Is it usual for other stations to tweet about programmes that are on other channels?

As Comedy Central tweeted:

There's a BuzzFeed-style article about Bake Off on the CC UK website, so it could be that they're trying to get in that sort of territory. More generally, companies and businesses do seem to get quite involved in TV programmes like Bake Off if they're relevant and can drum up trade - Tesco had 'promoted' (paid for to be featured) a Bake Off related hashtag today I noticed, and their Tesco Food Twitter account also tweeted along to the show.

I hope nobody who cares about Bake Off is waiting to watch it on iPlayer or a repeat. The result was mentioned on the BBC News at 10 and on the News Channel, and is mentioned on the front page of at least two newspapers.

But if you take that into consideration, at what point should it get reported outside of the programme? A day? A week?

To be fair, the BBC News at 10 mention was accompanied by an "If you haven't seen the result yet" warning a bit like football results used to be.
