I thought the continuity on the end of EastEnders was brilliant tonight!

It was a lot better than the usual CA "jokes."

Or near-illegible muttering.

Scotland were unable to take this, since it has a bay city roller documentary on at 9pm.

^Thanks for mentioning it! My mum LOVES the Rollers, she'll want to watch that on iPlayer I reckon.

BBC Daytime is also responsible for the 7pm BBC2 slot.

Although there are a lot of stripped shows in that slot, they actually aren't. They are responsible for 7pm on BBC1 most nights, of course.

Tim Wonnacott has been suspended from Bargain Hunt. Apparently they're using guest presenters.

Yes - which is why the controller role was reclassified as "Daytime and Early Peak" when they assumed responsibility for the BBC One 1900-1930 (1900-2000 on Wednesdays outside the summer months) I believe.

They've been using other presenters for a while, actually, because they film so many. They sold it as being while Wonnacott was busy with Strictly but I think it was just so they could churn more out and film a couple at the same time.

Of course, they've changed presenter before and David Dickinson was supposed to be the star and the only reason anyone watched it, but when he left it didn't affect the ratings at all, so it seems pretty indestructible to be honest.

Subtext to the BBC One logo this evening proclaiming "Channel of the Year" at 9pm.

Is this the RTS award?

Given the scrutiny the Beeb have been getting over the last few weeks, I won't be remotely surprised if we see some festive recycling in place.

That's what I think too. However, I would have no problem at all if they re-used 2006 or 2010's, they were both excellent.
