I find about two or three films a week being shown late on BBC One. I don't think they're that rare.

Though faint, a familar soundtrack can be heard as well as a minor cock-up.

Bit of an odd one from BBC One Northern Ireland just before 7pm. BBC Newsline was immediately followed by the Bikes ident - which introduced a number of trails for programmes showing tonight. We then had the short clock-based sting, with the time ticking round to 7 o'clock - and then straight into 'The One Show', with no announcement.

A similar style was used prior to The One Show this evening.

Very nice work from NI - evokes memories of the clock. Smile

They used to be pretty much nightly, often with a second film if the first finished early enough.

Of course Scotland/NI/Wales used to opt out and push back everything by up to an hour. Some times there would have move signed programmed to other nights etc.

I wish NI would push everything back by up to an hour .They on 90% of occasions would drop any movie being shown on the network even though Wales and/or Scotland with same delay or on occasion even longer would show it

Oopsie, who in continuity forgot to turn off their phone, or at least put it on silent.

Dean Lydiate - sounds like he left his mobile on and then attempted to switch it off but totally lost his place in his script whilst doing so. Good cockup.

He tried to make light of it saying that he had practiced his baking earlier presumably passing the ringing off as an oven.
It must be a hard job and for something like this to be a rarity it shows how wonderful, competent & professional they all are.

A question about the upcoming joint PBS and BBC production Big Blue Live :

If BBC One is showing the program live one week before PBS stations broadcast it live as well , how will PBS be able to do it live? Are two different editions being made for the PBS and BBC?

BIG BLUE LIVE airs live on PBS over three nights, Aug. 31-Sept. 2, 2015, at 8:00- 9:00 p.m. ET, with another live feed to the West Coast at 8:00-9:00 p.m. PT.

Matt Baker, a UK-based news anchor known best for his work on THE ONE SHOW, a daily magazine program airing on BBC will appear on the BBC live broadcast. Leading scientists and other experts will provide additional insights on different aspects of marine life and ecology.

These quotes make me think there will be three live programmes - one for BBC, one for the East coast and another for the West coast.
