Actual review time!
Okay, they're good, a refresh BBC One needed.
They just give the circles a fresh feeling.
Review over.
I just say it reminds me of the 1998 Carlton look because how the O in BBC one is a place to put the object in like Carlton did.

See what I am saying? But everyone has their own opinions.
Good work on the new idents, BBC!

You're right, they're very similar to Carlton - right down to the hot chocolate in the cup!
I don't think they're effective enough now to last any longer than a month (maybe 17 years ago, but not now).
They're okay though, significantly better than LOVE 201𝑥.

Well that would be an improvement.
I like these for what they are but they're not the strongest of branding. I find it a bit odd introducing them alongside the existing idents but although they could work on their own I think you'd need a lot of them to keep them quite fresh. They do seem more suited to some kind of sub-brand on the channel though, like if Daytime had separate idents.
edit: Someone check BBC2 haven't decided to draw their endboards in crayon or something.

Has anyone else seen the 1min promo showcasing over 30 shows during 2015.

They're nice little animations. They will freshen up the channel a little and it's a nice concept.
I would like to see more that two to add more diversity. Surely they missed a trick by not creating a short one with a little spinning globe replacing the 'o' to lead in to the news. It jars for me when they go back to kites, etc.
The music is very nice to them and a nice little change.
Would people have preferred them if they were made up of live action clips similar to the scenes that have been animated, or would that be similar to ITV1 January 2006?
One tiny little thing. I would have liked the first frame to be the logo and animate from there creating a flowing junction.

I was thinking more UK Gold 2002.

Just going back to what some have said
(And i know it wouldn't make much of a difference)
But with the money that they used to have these idents, the BBC could have used the money on BBC Three
Because to me it is like "We have no money left, close down BBC Three" and then i feel like they have found some money down the back of the sofa and thought just use it all on BBC One (But I think they should have had new idents for BBC Two, as the Christmas idents have been used for about 5 years)
