I don't understand the purpose in creating New Year Idents. If they're going to spend money on ident packages, then why not go for a full refresh? The circle idents are 9 years old this year and it seems a waste to make idents to last a month! These new idents are fresh and potentially could have many added to them for relevance of programming, season and such like. The use of Kites suggests that they're not permanent and a bit wasteful of resources.

They need a complete rebranding. Not a slight rethink of the same idea.

I don't really like the stings - the logo has to be big to make it work, but then it looks ugly.

Reduce the BBC logo size and maybe you have something though the regular idents still look better. By the way that looks out of 4:3 safe zones.

Hate the stings. Not within the 4:3 safe areas at all - those watching on an old set will see |B|C|on .

The idents are okay. Not great, but okay, considering I was expecting LOVE 2015 this is a nice surprise. I just hope they don't last long, as they don't have the same impact as a proper new set of circles.

I might be in the minority in thinking this, but if the BBC simply revert back to the 2006-09 set of idents, then the circles look would be given at least two/three more years of life, and at a very small cost.

While I agree most now watch on a widescreen TV, the safe areas do still exist for a reason.
If someone posted this on the Gallery there'd be hell on.

Short Capes has just aired into the news. What a jarring experience after the "long" Christmas idents. Horrible

These are a welcome change, and if there not being used for the news etc I think were heading in the right direction.
