thought only Surfer and Moterbikes were the only two with long play outs. Mind you either never seen that version of its Utlra rare for it to get a play out.
Not forgetting Capes and NI's Penguins and Helicopter.

Ah yes the Capes the one that most likely to get a airing along with the bikes and Surfers.
The others, it just seems there don't like playing the out longer do there.

NI ... had a new menu of something else?
Looks like a crumpet when viewed in HD, but not sure about the Star Trek communicator sound effects. Judge for yourself here

I think it actually is a crumpet. The sound effects seem like a radio that people would have on in their kitchen.

NC
Anyone watching the EastEnders Omnibus during live week on network would have seen Hippos long - I try and use it where I can. (I also slipped it in front of Poldark recently.) The EastEnders example was particularly joyous as it also had a long announcement - so the symbol ended up running for 30". Almost unheard of on BBC One network these days, but when you're running a programme which is three hours long, I think you need a nice meaty symbol.
(I believe NI actually used Moon on that occasion, which was also lovely. Wish we could still use that in network...)

And NI has just used the full Dog Display ident before Son of Rambow tonight. However, it is has the original white swirls, rather than the HD-style red swirls.

How does the opt into the NC on BBC One overnight usually work? Is it a case of timing it so BBC One joins at half past for the bottom-of-the-hour headline summary, or is it always like it was tonight, where BBC One plays out the bottom-of-the-hour titles, and then fades into whatever the NC is showing? Seemed a bit odd to just fade into the middle of a HARDtalk programme!
