I like them. They are different. It's nice to see them trying something different with the circle. At the end of the day they would have been running out of ideas of new idents to go with the current set.
I'm set for lots of whinging of "oo they look cheap" but at the end of the day, it's the programmes that matter. No one is going to turn off just because of an ident. With the cuts etc. they are doing a good job. They don't have to give us any new idents so but grateful of the changes.

If it's just for the new year (and a similar length of time as the pants "Love" stuff used to run) then it's a nice, unexpected change of pace, cutesy without being irritating.
I don't think it would have much legs for anything longer term; would agree it lacks the impact a permanent campaign would need to have. But good to see something new and a bit different and a better attempt at linking to the standard BBC One theme than can be said for other recent efforts.
I'd also agree it's not helped coming straight off the back of a very strong Christmas look, which felt like a real return to 2006 era mini-film form.
edit: Someone check BBC2 haven't decided to draw their endboards in crayon or something.

BBC Two were still using the Christmas idents into the Glastonbury highlights after Hootenanny ended.

Yes BBC Two's Christmas has lasted a day longer for the past several years. Strange one.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think BBC One's tradition of reverting to normal pres on New Years Day began with the launch of this, on this day 7 years(!) ago?
