BBC ONE Northern Ireland had a bit of a dodgy transition into The One Show just now. The long version of the Hippos ident was played out mostly clean before switching to a black screen mid-announcement. After around 2 seconds, the generic BBC ONE Northern Ireland swirl ident mentioned here appeared until the end of the announcement where it faded into the programme.

I was watching Network and all seemed fine and normal there. Suspect the NI director possibly built the junction incorrectly (i.e., accidentally left out a trail or something). When the Hippos ident ran, they possibly realised their mistake and then manually slotted in the generic ident at the end.

A new sting on BBC ONE Northern Ireland was shown earlier, based around the Chinese New Year.

It seems Scotland only ever used the Chinese New Year Menu once at 18.57. It never turned up back. Seems a bit of a waste.

Well, not really - I didn't see much in the trailer that looked like the old Come Dancing, and they haven't got rid of the celebs in any case.

Wasn't the old Come Dancing format professional couples (or amateur couples), while this is still pro-am.

Poor scheduling though I think - I know apart from the last episode it's more of a documentary than light entertainment but think a better slot than 9pm Wednesdays could be found for it.

9pm slot against football, Wolf Hall and the Brit Awards = Disaster.
Probably best for a Saturday night slot before or after the Lottery.
