In the old BBC One thread it was mentioned that an episode of Mastermind had been pulled and replaced with the one that was supposed to air today (11 January). What they have since done is replace today's with next week's and next week will air the one that was scheduled for 23 December.

Strange that they have dragged the Christmas celebrity specials out beyond mid-January. Looks like they did this last year too whereas previously they'd finished around the 5th.

Does anyone know which film was originally scheduled for last night after Count Arthur Strong , only to be replaced by Mad City ?

I don't know what Mad City replaced, but Have I Got A Bit More News For You was on in between.

According to the TV listings magazine from one of Saturday's newspapers, the schedule was supposed to be:
10.35 Count Arthur Strong
11.05 MOTD: FA Cup Highlights
12.05 Primeval
1.40 BBC News
SW
Steve Williams
And, er, Match of the Day didn't happen because there were only a handful of FA Cup replays taking place on Tuesday in the end, only one of which involved any top flight clubs, so they decided it wasn't worth a show and would just show the goals during the live game (as has almost always been the case on both the Beeb and ITV anyway). Course, as it turned out West Ham vs Everton, which would have been on that highlights show, was one of the games of the season, and their live game was total rubbish. They weren't to know that, though.

To be fair that doesn't normally stop BBC from showing MoTD when only 2 or 3 games are played and they are not top Premiership clubs!!!

Norther Ireland have a few extra idents based on the menu animations (I've spotted 2 so far today).

There's one that uses the plain menu background/trailer endcap:

VIDEO on YouTube

And one that uses the 'voice button' menu:

And once again NI shows Network up. This should've been the news ident.

I like that ident. Quite reminiscent of the clock era - something we haven't seen since 2002 and the withdrawal of the balloons.

Bravo Northern Ireland!
