I think this has to stop, every time we asked about new stuff or when did stuff air over a short period of time everyone starts mouthing Rota etc... if we did for a week then I could understand

There also has to be some courtesy to other members though, this site isn't here just for your own convenience. There are a few who regularly ask whether something has been shown or when it'll be shown next (often with no reply because none of us know!) or that something has been shown again and it makes for pretty dull reading. I know some want to record for a website or personal collection but everything in moderation when posting questions.

Im going to have be very dogmatic about this response, but underline problems which there clearly is has to be sorted out. Asa you saw a "bullish" post so responded, I so "bullish" post early so I responded, we can both see where this end, and it wont be very good. Wink

Lets be fair here, were DAY 6, into a new pres package, which has resulted in BBC bumpers, making a welcome return, but its only been 2 1/2 days into the package being used on working week. So no one know what being used where etc, so the only way is to asked. to be fair we now know the bumpers are used at 10am, 5.14, 8pm and 11pm. So that now done and dusted, ( every one knows when the menus are used)

Absolutely, this thread has basically tuned into an 'as-run-log' of BBC1's continuity. It's interesting to note a new thing has been shown but what is the point of noting every play of it after that. If you really care; watch or record the channel.

I agree 100% having a running order of everything used is head banging dull, I don't care when Footprint uis used etc but this thread isn;t really like that. We have not listed every jct use of idents nor promos etc. AS said above were trying to see if a patten is being used with bumpers.

but I wonder if an extended list of what ident was shown at what time is really that much different from a rota thread.
l
Of course no one complained about the BBC2 thread either here nor Metropol. Yet that clearly rota in your
eyes, yet it been let off the hook.

I maintain that this is just like asking about the shifts a presenter works, just the sting won't get offended when someone says they hate it!

That just getting well overbroad?

It doesn't seem like that works both ways. I seen on the other place I name get tag yet no one else for posting information what was used where and what.. Its all streams back to the enquire I made in two post about the difference between STV and ITV over a period which is well know for not having adverts.

People are don't want to see nice thread end up like GMB etc I fully understand that, but there has to be some give and take, maybe a 2 day rule for trying to see what's being used where?

None of the threads are proper rota yet IE:

10.14.58 ECP
10.15.18 Bumper - football
10.15.22 Promo - The voice 20 sec
10.15.52 Prom - Bargin hunt
10.16.12 Ident
10.16.22 Homes under the hammer,.

I know I going to get shot in flames for this.

There's a difference between 'has the Christmas tree sting been shown outside Scotland yet?' and waiting for a response of yes/no/don't know and leaving it at that and:

'Scotland showed x at 17.14 why hasn't y been shown', 'Scotland showed y at 20.07 why hasn't z been shown' 'Scotland again showed x at 21.00, ugh why hasn't y been shown'

which is what this thread had turned into, 623058. It's a discussion forum not your journal, is all we're saying.

I made that post on Metropol, and I don't think it is going abroad. This thread has basically descended into 'OOH Needles was shown today, WHY AREN'T WALES SHOWING IT' and 'Network only use the football one ugh', and it is effectively a log of what was shown when. When you post asking people to fill in the gaps as to when a certain sting is shown you are basically doing a BBC News Fix, when he used to post and ask 'who presenter the 6 yesterday' 'did jane hill do the whole shift alone' etc, and it does become more like a rota.

When someone in the BBC Two thread goes 'ooh, they've used Kebab for the fifth time today', that too is a bit excessive, but mainly that thread is people actually uploading new idents and mentioning that they've reintroduced Copper Cut-out or something, although give it time and I'm sure some members can cause that to descend into 'WHY DO SCOTLAND NOT USE COPPER IT IS MY FAVE' too.

As others have said, this is not a journal, but the way it comes across recently with you asking people to fill in the gaps as to when things air it appears like that.

I did ask on metro how to make an improvements, since people complained first time around, that was in connection to STV,. No one to coin the phrase were up to put up. Its only NOW becoming pretty clear about the issues. It just feels like people are side stepping the reason for highlighting issues, which would solve alot of trouble, hence were not at this stage.

But its does seem to be more that than just one issue, but lets deal with this thread troubles first Wink I know what Scotland does with BBC2, so it wont me be, which will descend that thread.

Lets clear the air, so we can move forward.

I apology for causing trouble if I come across trying to make this a journal, I really don't want a journal. I just trying to see where what is used and when overall IE NOT exact details but more like where would expect stuff to more likely to turn up, to give a better overview., of course the exact detail slid in the posts by me and others.

I hate to come across like the thread police, but I wonder if an extended list of what ident was shown at what time is really that much different from a rota thread. While the fact they've shown new idents and stings is interesting, do we really need to have a complete record of every time they're on? After they've been on as well. I can understand announcing a new one's been on, but not that one's been on again.

Well said.

If we don't know all the Times there could appear then how will we know when to look? We can't sit watching bbc1 24/7.

I think this has to stop, every time we asked about new stuff or when did stuff air over a short period of time everyone starts mouthing Rota etc... if we did for a week then I could understand.

It has now been a week. The times they can appear are during the presentation junctions on BBC1 - simple. As Steve said it's one thing flagging up a new ident but other than that it's pretty tedious. Sadly just like the rota discussion it seems to have gone from fairly innocent and occassionally interesting observations to a compulsive need to know everything in minute detail.

It was of scraping frost away.

EDIT - shown on Network, Scotland and Wales. Don't know about NI as have run out of tuners Wink

Doh!! Seems so obvious now. If there's an accompanying Next/Later graphic, it'll probably look a bit Christmassy. And presumably it would also mean that the programme info text would have to change colour to red, which I'm sure will be a bit of a nuisance for the pres directors.

Adjust the colour on the middle part and that sums up what I think of that sting.
