Cock up in 5:58 Junction (January 2005)

I was watching the 5:35 showing of Neighbours. The end credits started to roll and I waited for the inevitable credit squash to appear so they could advertise Watchdog or something, but instead of just squashing to one side, they sort of came into the middle and squashed even further than they normally. Therefore we had an ECP for 25 years of Watchdog, a thin strip of credits and then a huge swath of red on the right hand side.

Does anyone know why things like this always cock up with the BBC use an ECP?

It's the weather.

It's either:

a) The new equipment they're using in their new building;

b) That they've changed it to be safe for 4:3 CCO; or

c) The weather.

We've cracked it! The Witch On The One has usually been responsible for most of BBC1's problems - the worst being the recycling of the 2002 Christmas ident in 2003. When will she leave (or better still, be sacked!)? Jane Root was BBC2 controller from January 1999 - June 2004. That's five and a half years. If Heggessey's lifespan as a controller is similar, she should leave in spring 2007 because she started in November 2001. Please deliver us to safety!

Well here's a solution. Don't use ECPs!

I think you'll find that's a willow.

I have noticed glitches going in an out of ECPs over Neighbours recently.

Personally I think tvarksouthwest's solution is the best. Nasty things.
