Theres just been a right mess on BBC One North with the 10 clock.

First we saw a network clock before opting late into the BBC North clock with the seconds on about 959.56

Then a different announcer than usual came on, It may have been live and said 'This is BBC One in the North, now the news at 10 o'clock with George Alagiah and Charlotte Doney'. This is a combination of presenters that there wouldn't be an annoucement for already, It was done really slowly.

Then as the clock read 10.00 and 4 seconds we opted into George Alagiah well into the headlines

A right mess!

Almost the same thing happened on BBC North West! We got 'This is BBC One in the North West now the News at Ten O'Clock with George Alagiah...BUMM, BUMM..(fading)...and Martin Henfield!'

Also, the clock for George Alagiah is definately recorded - its always the same with the same voice. This person is never used for anything else, as he speaks very slowly.

I don't think there would be one for George Alagiah and Charlotte Doney though, as Charlotte is only presenting instead of regular presenter Ian White this week.

Does the NW have the same recorded clocks as the North, with anouncements for Michael B and Peter S being done by the same voice, different than the one used for the 1 and 6, with a different voice again done for George A.

All English regions have recorded announements (on the clocks) done by the London announcers and are generally different announcers for each bulletin.

If there is a strange combinations of presenters, someone from the regions usually a newsreader or a radio personality will voice the announcement.

Some English regions also have recorded London announcements for their regional programmes as well. Look East certainly does!
