Apparently YTV were mortified at Christa's defection, and have banished her from its screens, even though she doesn't start at the BBC until the autumn. Christine Talbot is already confirmed as replacement to co-present Calendar with Mike Morris. YTV said '“We wish Christa good luck in her new career at the BBC and look forward with confidence in competing with her to attract the region's viewers.” Christa will be heard again on BBC local radio as well as part of her £120,000 deal.

It must have all occured very quickly, as Christine was on 'Wellbeing' earlier this week, and then shes straight in as the new face of YTV.
I think that Christa will probably appear on BBC Look North during August as Holiday cover, and also Clare Frisby will need time off to prepare for her new programme.
At what times during the day are these new opt outs occuring?

As far as I know, the opt-outs will occur for 10 mins during the 6:30pm programme, as well as the whole of the 10:30pm bulletin, which will be seperate for eastern viewers.

Agree with you their, it's the guys in the North of England that Look North!

The Yorkshire one, should be called Yorkshire Tonight like North West Tonight!

Yorkshire Tonight would be inaccurate but that didn't stop a TV station called Yorkshire starting up which is also received in Lincolnshire, Parts of Derbyshire & Parts of Norfolk!

They could call it North Tonight like the Grampian programme or Up North, that would be interesting! Smile

The Yorkshire & Lincs version of 'Look North' should stay 'Look North'.

The Cumbria and North East version should be 'Look a bit more North'
