On Sky this evening there were some bizzare listings on the EPG for northern BBC regions. The listings are the same as on the BBC website.

BBC North opted out of network for Rugby League Raw, the listings showed

11.35 Rugby League Raw/Eurotrip
1.05 Eurotrip/Weatherview/News 24
2.30 BBC News 24
2.35 BBC News 24

Does anyone know why the listings are never correct when BBC North opts out for Rugby League Raw?

I bet anyone who SKY + that lot had some fun watching it back!

Seriously the EPG is normally correct with other differing lengths opt outs(The Nations), why is it such a problem for BBC North?

Not just on Sky - BBC One on BT Vision currently shows:

1300 - 1430 Golf: The World Matchplay
1430 - 2359 This channel is no longer available

Channel 4 currently shows:

1300 - 1400 T4: Charmed...
1400 - 2359 This is Channel 4

Good old BT Vision

Maybe because the nations are better resourced than the regions and can probably tweak the EPG themselves as they have so many changes wheras the regions have to get somebody in London to change it as it's so infrequent.

I think it's still the case that all the EPG Listings are produced by Red Bee Media. They have the contracts to provide listings services for quite a lot of other braodasters too I believe. There are so few opts on English Regions that most of the time, there's just one master billing for BBC One England, with a standard billing for each region's opt programme. That explains why a specific "News for Oxfordshire and Swindon" billing appears for South Today Oxford (for example) even when the bulletins are produced in Southampton and are transmitted region-wide (i.e. at Weekends/Breakfast etc).
