BBC Nine O'Clock News circa 1986

Does anyone have the music or video of the Nine O'Clock news from the late eighties - where they showed the readers in front of a view of earth from space and the titles animated over the top? Julia Somerville was their primary presenter as I recall.

James Ison has the 1988 Nine O'Clock News music on his website.
Was that presented by Julia Somerville - I would only have been three years old!!

Now I feel old!

Have been to James' brilliant site. Those files are terrific but the 1988 version there isnt the one I'm referring to. I'm looking for the one that preceeded it.

Anyone else remember it?

Does anyone have any videos of the old BBC News titles, pre 1997 (the 93-97 ones), and any BBC News at Nine stuff (corporate) that was on before the Ten O'Clock switch, i.e. stings etc?

There was a really good site - i think its tv-cream but as i recall its not operational now. perhaps its being updated, but they had a whole section for national and regional bbc video going all the way back to '60 minutes' and Nationwide. How old do i feel now.....

I have video of the open and close of the bbc 9 o'clock news from the mid 1980s, taken from tv ark before it had a few problems, they're on their way about now

In my collection regarding Nine'o'clock news:

• Intro 1973
  
• Intro 1985
  
• Intro 1988 (the one asked for) - with Sommerville and Phillip Hayton (now News24)
  
• Intro 1989 - 1993ish (with the big thunderclaps)
  
• The Current Ones (9+10)
  
• Close 1987 ish (like the 1988 one above but I can't see the space behind, but same studio
  

I also have a short one as an intro for 'BBC News at 9.00', but I think this may be am.

All these, though are just one's I've got from sites on the web, such as TV Ark, TV World, etc., but I've had to do a bit of digging to find out the dates.
