This series has been heavily trailed by BBC NI for a couple of weeks, and was due to the shown after the 10.00 News on four nights this week.

It was still being advertised last weekend, but has now been 'postponed until a later date'.

The series is about young offenders from a borstal in NI who were being directed to stage their own performance of the acclaimed local play 'Observe the Sons of Ulster Marching Towards The Somme'.

Before I contact the BBC to salve my curiosity, anyone here knolw what has happened here?

Confused:

This might sound stupid, but could it be do with those suicides around Portadown (?)

Several thoughts have crossed my mind, given the content of the programme, but it may be just that it needs fine-tuning or improved.

Them not saying anything other than that it has been postponed, when it was being so heavily trailed until the day before, just raises a wee bit of suspicion.

The obvious reason would be one or more of the participants being involved in some on going legal investigation, so identifying them on TV would be prohibited.

I believe you'll find it's down to only having verbal agreement about using material in the broadcast instead of written, which until resolved, means the programme will be shelved. Don't expect the programme to reappear anytime soon....
