BBC Newsroom Festivities

The alcove type thing was there in the Midlands Today studio was there during for the election when those regional programmes were on when viewers could call in with questions to MP's. Can't remember the name right now but it was the best use of the second bit of the Midlands Today studio - they should do Viewpoint Midlands from there - or have a soft area.

Yes, I agree, that should be used as a soft area - something never seen on Midlands Today since the Late 90s when the sports and arts segments were presented by separate presenters on the sofa...

that election programme with william hague/charles kennedy etc. was its your call

they have used the 'unused area' ...on special occasions... like when nick used his celebrity status to get an interview with the one and only paul daniels (yawn)

i think they were both prerecorded segments - which was probably why that area was used.  i think the studio is completely the wrong shape - and having so little freedom with the generic look means the space can't be used effectively.

i hope the mailbox saga is dropped completely - bbc bosses give the regions the chance to have a loosly generic look like LDN, (i heard that it is now done in the pebble mill reception - so whynot have an open plan studio type setup? seems logical!

Has anyone else ever experienced this-you create a topic,after say 4 days this topic gets unnoticed and then someone creates an identical topic,where everyone posts what's meant to be in the topic that you made ages ago. And then comes on the feeling that your original topic goes to waste and all the people who know the most about your topic that you first created haven't even posted in that original topic just mentioned,but have posted in the new topic when you really need them in the old topic. And even when you promote your old topic in your signature and mention it in the new topic there is still no one in there right mind who would post in the original topic because there is already a topic there,which sticks out like a sore thumb. So you rearrange your signature so it is more clearer but you can't help thinking that on the day it all gets big it's going to be you asking for images in your old topic and people will say they completly forgot even though you posted a reminder,and then you get banned for spamming because you posted too much?

Remember everybody,on Christmas day it's important that ALL RTVCCs around the country REMEMBER to post the Regional details in my thread. Please? I could even put them all up on my website,with thanks of course!
