Has anyone been able to capture a high quality MP3 of The World Today Special music which was used a 2 weeks ago at the start and end of the programme? If so, could you either post it or send it to me.

Gary.

A bit off topic, but News 24 played a dirty trick today!! They opted out of the end titles for the weather! And they were the full end titles, i.e. they started from the start well after the presenters finished speaking, so we may have had more on-screen of the titles!!

World over-ran by 10 seconds and didn't inform N24. They left World at 0556.30 as was scheduled to hit the Net1 opt-out at 0559.10

Timings are all very tight now in N24 with the various opts they have to do and could not stay with World to see the closing titles

Actually, what do BBC News 24 do at the very start of Breakfast at 0600? They surely don't show the BBC ONE Balloon, so what do they do? Do they replace it with a countdown like usual?

I think this is what you mean. Both are pretty good quality but not proper stereo.

BBC The World Today End Titles (198kb - zip)

BBC The World Today Special Titles (580kb - zip)

It's replaced by the countdown.

Yes.

I remember ( a while before I got the net - let alone a website! ) when I woke up at 5.55am, turned on BBC One and saw 1 1/2 BBC One balloons before Breakfast News! Not surprisingly, I didn't have the VCR going. If I remember rightly, a promo had either stopped or was suddenly cut into a balloon and we had one whole announcerless balloon, then five seconds black, then half of another one with the anno finally appearing.

Cheers, Asa

Net1 opt-out either 0559.00 or 0559.10 depending what promo they have to play. When they leave core N24 output, N24 carry on with a 20' or 30' promo, then the countdown clock, then cut to Breakfast

It's replaced by the countdown.

So, technically, when the World Today aire at 5 am BST, which frequency is it aired on, and as a result, who joins who? My guess is that it's aired on BBC World, and News 24 joins World, and BBC One joins News 24.

Yes I think it is World who produce it, as they use BBC WORLD News live and news update astons!

Also, the actual countdown for N24 has a vamp attatched to it (probably so there's a vamp if anyone forgets the overlay the other one), and if you listen carefully, the countdown ends, and sometimes the vamp can be heard before the TWT vamp starts.

TWT is produced by the World team.
It is transmitted on World, N24 & BBC1

World Pres take the World News studio output
N24 take the World News studio output
BBC1 take N24 studio output
