Its possible, they always use the same shots and any minor adjustments for presenter's height could be done automatically, like the BBC Weather department.
Can anyone actually confirm, does BBC News have people manning the camera's anymore?

News 24 and World don't, nor as far as I know do Nationals ... although Breakfast News do.

There are definitely a few people in the studio during the broadcasts on BBC National news, but not sure they have camera operators.

And they do actually have spy cams high in the studio (ie. not the actual cameras) but they only feed direct into the news gallery so they can see what's going on. I could see that there were definitely a couple of production people in there - but didn't look to be anybody directly behind the cameras.
