I think that the BBC should use their Washington studios a bit more. They should use it for BBC World News a few times a day, like CNN used to do with their Washington studios. If they did this, it would give BBC World a truly global image. At the moment, it seems a bit european related because they only operate out of London (apart from World Business Report).

There's actually two studios in Washington. One full sized one which they are currently using for the Gavin Esler 1+2's, and there's a self-opt studio which is basically a broom cupboard.

Nice idea Milly - I think you'll be seeing an awful lot more of it in the future given the impending WWIII

The big Washington studio is really nice. I think the setting is quite unconventional though compared to the other BBC studios. The [National news studio] and all the regional studios have a GIANT projection screen while World and News 24 studios have a working newsroom in the background. Washington has three TVs turned 90 degrees.

It is nice to see the big Washington studio ... they are doing Dateline from there this weekend.
But to use it requires more staff to be in Washington (which ofcourse there are at the moment) which is why you don't see it that much during normal news times.
