Has anyone else downloaded the BBC News Uncovered bit in Features section. I have a few points to make about it,
The first Being that fantastci music, i've never heard before, does anyone have that?
The second being Anna Ford, how unfunny is she! Does anyone get what she's on about????
The third Being that, at the begginning of the feature Huw comes out of a tube train station, and no-one passing cares. And how wierd seeing Huw on a train!
The fourth Huw's face when he gets 8/10 for his work that day! Talk about grumpy!
The fifth Being chesirec won't like the video, obviously.
And to top it off The sixth Great video showing the gallery, and that countdown woman is so s o o t h i n g

Any views on the video.......

Some people just don't get it©©©
Right, Nick, for you, and other people of your mentality, I will explain©
I do not hate the BBC, I do not hate News24, I simply think it does not usual provide as good a service as can be found elsewhere©
IMO BBC One bulletins are excellent and provide a good roundup of the day's events©
However, the BBC do not have much experience of providing 24 hour news to the UK, and hence, are not as good at it as Sky, that is MY opinion©
If you saw CNN at launch it was terrible, earning names such as Chicken Noodle Network/News and Clinton's News Network a little later©
However, now, no-one in the US would argue that CNN is the most powerful news service in the States, and no-one would argue that CNNI is the most watched and most widely available TV news service in the world©
News24 will get better with time, just as Sky did and CNN did© But at the moment it is not all you make it out to be, but given time, and by time, I mean years, not months, it will be well respected©
But the fact remains, it will still always be second best to Sky, just like CNN still regins supreme in the states because of the fact that it is the oldest at doing what it is best at doing, just like Sky©
The only reason the BBC is so popular on terrestrial tv is because of the fact that it is older© You honestly think if it was the new kid on the block and had the same resources as many people would watch? No of course not, the same applies with news channels© Because Sky is older it will get more viewers, because it has a better reputation, is more widely known about and has the most experience in it's field in the UK©
The situation would be totally reversed if News24 was the oldest channel©
And actually, I did like the video! And please make an effort to spell my name correctly!!

I've not downloaded the video yet but the soothing countdown voice is actually Fiona Bruce ... so when she's on she counts herself out of pieces etc! In News 24/World we have digital dorothy which does the same thing. Nationals wanted a different voice so have Fiona.

I will make it an effort to spell your name correctly if you make it an effort to be nice to people. It was a thing called a joke so don't worry. And what are all these copyright things you put,

Nick D
Smile, it's easter

They are not copyright things, it is all down to a small elf which invades my PC©
Actually, they will happen again in this post, because of the fact that I am using Netscape 6 and it just don't like forums©

The video's good, its great to see how things go on, although I wouldn't of expected Huw to travel on the tube.

If you have ever tried to travel by car to anywhere in London it wont suprise you!
I found it slightly concerning that there was a rather large Gore Lieberman sign at Anna Ford's desk© Bit of bias creping in there?!

Huw Edwards travels into work on the tube most days he says - people do speak to him according to what he told me but some people he tries to avoid if they make too much of who he is!

On the RDA (a programme on BBC Choice), they had a little feature where a camera was set up to see Huw leave the BBC building but he was chauffeured in a car. Where to? The tube station?

And on the final day of that feature on the programme, Huw got his driver to turn around just outside the RDA's studio and have a go at the presenter for this feature they were doing! The presenter seemed quite nervous because he didn't know this was going to happen. Anyway, Huw's parting words 'Your presenters crap!' (and that was the most polite sentence he used in the interview!)

Cheers, Asa

Oh yeah! I remember that, it was really funny. He knew they were doing it because some evenings he would turn round and give the camera a little wave. Smile
