You can buy big back projected TV screens.

I'm not sure if you could buy one as big as the BBC News one but you can certainly buy ones that are at least 42'.

Even if you could buy one as big as the ones BBC News uses, it would probably be VERY expensive. Generally they are bought by the media, pubs or cinema addicts that have money to burn. Very Happy

I dunno if anyone knows this but the old blue BBC News studio was used for every BBC News programme broadcasted. All they did was change the panels along that curved wall for each News programme.

and now that studio is used for liquid news and the new BBC Choice News

And my very rich friends who bought one for their house a few years ago and still have it. It's okay, but you have to be at a certain angle to watch it otherwise you can't see anything other than a blob of colour! For £10,000 or something you could buy better things, I'm sure!

Sorry - not strictly correct.

All three of the 'old' news studios had blue 'branding' sets just before they left service. N1 housed World, N2 Nationals and N3 was a backup for either, and also housed the original Working Lunch (which was totally CSOed - but still basically from a small blue branded desk)

However - one of the sets (N3s I think) was moved down into the new (and current) N6 Nationals studio before the most recent LambieNairn look was launced, and thus the blue branded look continued on-air on the 1/6/9 for quite a while afterwards from N6. (Though I think the shots were tighter as the N3 desk was smaller than N2s.... I might be wrong about this)

You are right though, N1 and N2 have since been re-developed to house Top of the Pops@Play and Liquid News/60 Seconds respectively, whilst N3 was converted for non broadcast-studio use, given it's small studio size.

You haven't seen this telly! It would fill a room - if there rooms were the size of the rooms in my house!
