BBC News Studio

I don't like the new look. There's too much use of the 'china red' colour on the new set, which drowns out the cream white colour on the set, and makes it seem darker.

I don't rate the new 'sidebar' design either, looks too much like a ladder. The previous set design had a more lighter feel to it, rather like the 'Breakfast' set, which uses yellow, red and cream, as it's principal colours.

I hope that this does NOT mean that the regions are going to follow in a similar style.

Surely they could afford to buy two black keyboards... it's only a little thing in the big scheme of things but hey I like to be picky.

Also, do you think Huw might allude to the new studio this evening on the Six - he often talks about the big window...!! We'll wait and see!

If he does, he'll say something like: 'Well, using her new screen, here's Isobel with the weather. Like the new studio Isobel?'

It reminds me a lot of the Star Wars Special Editions. Everything looks the same, except bigger and with different angles.

I still loathe that side bar, and yes it does seem very dark now. It's not so bad at 6pm & 10pm when it's dark outside, but at 1pm, it seemed very dark, maybe it was because Anna Ford was heavily made up as well !

Since watching it on TV, I have to admit the sidebar looks iffy, I suppose because the wall curves into the sidebar, it looks weird!!!

Well no mention from Huw - but I do think the studio looks really good and even the sidebar is growing on me!

I was just thinking that the sidebars should be part of the real studio. Plus the wide shot should be, well wider. It should show more of the studio demostrating there are three people (max) in the place. plus it looks cooler.

Doesn't the newsroom behind look a lot more impressive, the way the roof looks to be curving down, like the whole thing is a circular dome!

I really do like the improvements to the news studio! It definately brightens up that place! Hope they are going to do the same for the rather dull News 24 studio!
