One thing I have to ask is, why have the News 24 frosted panels
reappeared?
I thought the top part of the newsroom view was computer generated whilst they removed the flags - which is why for the first couple of months it always looked a little yellow.
I'm not complaining, I think they look rather nice.
The new set is really good, but I think the sidebar is a bit of a let down, the old one would of looked just as good!

When you put them both together like that, it does look a lot better!
Notice the green pot plant in the background of the '9', but it's gone - unless they start producing china red plants!
I think that view makes it look a lot better than it did when I saw it on screen. Now that we have more virtual stuff, maybe some animation as well??????

I think the sidebar is disgusting. I think it would look better if the bars were a little thinnner. I was out all day and when i saw the news at 5.15 or whatever it was i was shocked but amazed until i saw that bar.
But then i got a telephone call saying my great grandad had died and all the excitement went. But i hardly knew him. That sidebar would make him turn in his grave. (Thats awful isn't it!)
Well I wasn't expecting any new titles - why would they bother? The titles are red and cream like the new studio.

Someone please answer my question:
q: Why does the BBC National News use purple astons / supers when there is no purple in the titles or set?
a: OVER TO YOU FORUM...

Considering we went for six years between 1993-99 with no changes whatsoever to the BBC news set, graphics and titles (except the insertion of the new BBC logo in 1997), I think just a new set after less than three years is enough excitement!

I think the frosted glass on the balcony with the old 'flags' patterns has been around for ages. When News24 moved to it's 2nd location they positioned coloured lights behind the frosted glass to give it a more colourful feel to complement the flags.
