I can tell whether its me or not, but the studio during the afternoon summary with Darren Jordon looked different somehow:

If you look carefully, the desk seems to be a different colour, and its out of line, the chair is one like on Breakfast's set, and if you look really closely, you can see the wall of the studio through the back of the chair. Also, the 'window' as Huw calls it, seems to be out of line with the wall!

I'm not sure exactly whats going on, but something's fishy!

I noticed it too

The whole bullitin looked as though it was done on a blue/green screen.

They 'place' aston was also different. It was in the same place as the Breakfast aston and was in white lettering.

There was a purple light over the desk.

It was all very odd.

er, forgive me. I see no difference!
Could this mean anything if anything has changed!?

lol, its only the eagle-eyed of us that can see the difference!! TBH, I saw it straight away, after the opening titles. There seemed to be a lighter desk, and it seemed to be in a different position. Also, there seemed to be fuzzing around the edge of Darren on the background. Spooky!

Could be a temporary set in another studio, they may be doing some work in the National News studio....

I was just gonna post in here to ask if anyone else noticed it and it seems lots of you have! So I guess this is what NickyS was telling us to keep an eye out for, right? The national news seemingly coming from a temporary virtual studio over the weekend, probably ready by Monday. I wonder how drastic the changes will be. Will it affect the 1, 6 and 10 or will it just be these new look daytime ones we've heard about?

It seems like it'll be something more drastic than a red strip across the wall, anyway, if the whole studio is out of action..

Hmm, I wonder where UK Today will come from, since it shares the same studio?

If it is virtual, which it looks like, then its amazing really, that you can get it to look so much like the real thing!!

Thought you'd gone insane for a moment there Rob, but upon closer inspection it does indeed look virtual.

Have a look at the size of the desk in proportion to the rest of the studio, big giveaway.

The national news studio certainly needs something doing to it, it looks so bland and boring with all of that beige.

Then again we may see no changes at all, and there may just be technical adjustments taking place. Roll on Monday...

You don't notice the differences from the screen grabs. So you'll need to watch the News at 5.20 to really notice the difference.

Yes, this does look VERY virtual, on the photo above their is some interference around the desk and the presenter.

This won't be anything to do with the 'new' Daytime News, as this is planned to come direct from a specially built section in the News Center.

This must be at least something to do with a studio makeover or something, as it would take some time to get a virtual studio solution up and running, whereas if it was just something small such as technical changes, then they would probably have just used the N24 Briefing section of Breakfast studio .

And, there was NickyS's tip-off to keep a look out for changes to BBC News, so something is certain to happen.
