It might just be me missing them, but today, as far as i am aware, there have been no BBC News Specials on News 24. They have been having them up until, yesterday at 1200, 1700 and 2000 (used to be 2100, until it changed until an hour earlier for some unknown reason). However, I checked at 1700 and 2000 and they just went straight to BBC NEWS. Is this just today becuase of the breaking news with David Trimble, or have they finished? If they've finished, its quite a disappointment really, as they have proved very successful in terms of coverage, I've enjoyed being brought right up to date by them each evening. Can anyone shed any light on this issue?

It changed to an hour earlier because of GMT and not BST. It makes the 1700 report go out at 12noon New York time.

And yes, I enjoyed watching the 'round up' specials too. The presentation was fantastic. Lise Doucet was brilliant in the worldwide broadcasts from Islamabad.

Well is there really any need for a 'News Special' now. There isn't a lot going on in the 'War on Terrorism' that cannot be covered in an ordinary bulletin.

Maybe not. But BBC News from 5-6 would be nice as a World News roundup.

Yes, that's a point. Slightly off-topic but now the clock have changed to Greenwich Mean Time, is NYC still 5 hours behind us?

Most of them were dropped today due to coverage of Northern Ireland. They still went out on world and may return to News24 tomorrow,

As for clocks changing, the whole world does not change together. Although America, europe and parts of asia do put their clocks back in October, a lot of countries do not, and many southern hemisphere countries put their clocks forward.

I also want them back, but I would also like them to be permanent, or a joint news broadcast between World and News 24, mainly because I like my world news, and find that News 24 more or less concentrates on UK news, well most of the time!

Yeah - I'd like more world news on News 24 as well. Perhaps a later 'The World Today'?
