9pm this evening on N24/World, there was a BBC News Special. Strangly, they played the N24 headline bed but used World News titles (although instead of saying just 'BBC News' at the end of the titles, it said 'BBC News Special'). VERY long headline sequence, the longest I've seen, well over a minute. The programme is presented by Brian Hannerahan (?) live in New York.
Didn't think this was worth a new topic and I know this has been mentioned elsewhere:
There was a BBC News Special for 25 minutes on BBC One at 7.40pm this evening.
It was presented by Fiona Bruce but with the lighting dimmed, the main camera shots being of Fiona and the two-way plasma screen with images on and of the normal good-bye camera with the New York images on the back plasma instead of the newsroom.
There were interviews with George Alagiah in New York and Stephen Sackur in Washington for about 10 minutes followed by a report from Gavin Estler for 15 minutes on the events of the week. This played right to the end of the Special.
The titles were the short daytime bulletin titles which visually faded into a 'America under Attack' graphic when the graphic usually fades to the wide shot.
I think that sums it up!

Did anybody manage to get any screenshots of the studio tonight?
I didn't think they used a particularly long ending on Friday. I really like the one which mixes The World Today special music, with the BBC World Special music. They are so wonderful!!!:
