Something was wrong with the 6oclock news today.
The graphic at the side of Huw Edwards changed about 5 times, at one point is was all beige, then half was gone, then a quarter then just normal...weird

According to Radio Times this week (I really dislike the new format), Sian Williams - the best newsreader ever - is going to be presenting the News at Six on Tuesday & Friday!!
Has anyone noticed when Huw Edwards says 'I THINK Fiona's here tomorrow at Six' - it is always Sian!
I think the new format is quite good actually, although I didn't actually buy the thing, so didn't get time to have a proper look.
However, Do you think they should put the Six O'clock news on at weekends?
RTÉ do it in Ireland, I cannot understand why they don't over here, NBC also do it in the states.
I know they have one at about 5.45, but it isn't quite the same.

Sometimes they play the wrong graphic when the regions rejoin at 6:55. Once they played the whole BBC News at 6 titles that are used at the beginning. Fiona Bruce seemed surprised.
Saturday - I think they should end Live and Kicking at 12:00, which can be followed by a 10 minute news summary, followed by Weather and a Regional News Round-up. Then at 1800, they should have the BBC News at Six followed by the Regional News summary. I hate having just one 5 minute NorthWest Tonight at the weekend - I always miss it and I like Julia Sharpe!

Yes, I can't understand why they don't have the news programmes at the same time at the weekends. They have the 10 o'clock on Sundays - why not Saturdays and every other programme as well? If not, then the same time every week would be good.
And, yes, Sian Williams is brilliant - but I like all three who do the Six!
I think that Nicholas Witchell and Jennie Bond should be brought back to the Six - as well as Anna Ford. They could put Huw or Fiona on the One O'Clock News with George Alagiah - he's great too. Sian should be made a full national presenter instead of presenting BBC News occasionally, along with Breakfast, the news summary on Breakfast with Frost and various News 24 bulletins (usually weekend mornings). I wrote to Sian last year and she sent me a full letter back, as she used to read the news on BBC Radio Merseyside, wishing me a happy Christmas!

Does anyone know why Sian does not present the BBC Weekend News bulletins like she did last year?
She is much better than Sarah Montague, Matthew Amroliwala and Darren Jordan.
I think the following presenters should be used:
Breakfast - Sophie Raworth and Asad Ahmed
News at One - Edward Stourton
News at Six - Sian Williams and Robert Hall
News at Ten - Chris Lowe/George Eykyn
Weekend - Sian Williams/Fiona Bruce
