Former BBC News presenter

Just saw on the BBC Ten O'Clock News that Lynette Lithgo (most of you are probably not old enough to remember her) has been killed along with some other members of her family.

Who was she?

I don't recognise that name.

I remember her - she used to present mainly weekend bulletins around the late 1980s.

I seem to remember her being one of the launch presenters for BBC World in 1992.

We in Continuous News were all shocked & stunned at the News when it came in at about 1930-ish.

Such a cruel world we all live in.

She was also a continuity announcer on Granada in the 80's before she went to the BBC.

Granada Reports also carried the story last night.

The face seems familiar from somewhere else on the web. But I never ever saw her on TV.

When did this happen, where and how?

My thoughts and sympathy are with her family members...

she also did a stint on the Nottingham opt outs for Midlands Today in the late 80's

Yeah, I know her particuarly from the great big virtual glass thing era of BBC1/2 News.

I remember something about that on Weekend 24 this morning - They showed the image and Bill Turnbull said she had been mugged or something but was making a recovery.
