I seem to remember it being said when this all started however many months ago that the two presenters would make a 'fuller' use of the studio. Being a cynic, I assumed that since the six has essentially had almost two presenters for a while (Huw at a desk, Fergus at a wall) that one presenter would simply wonder across to the screen every so often.... perhaps it's now going to be more...

I miss the one, six and ten having different theme tunes. People seem to think that the idea of 'similar sounding' news started only in 1999, but the 1993 news themes (for national news) were simply the rather different 1988 themes made to sound similar to each other (with a fantastic opening two-five seconds being the same but different in all three). However it's not such a big thing for the six to have a slightly different theme when there's already dozens of themes based on the model already.

I am not sure how much I will be able to find out, but I am off to the news centre next Saturday and will get my snoopers hat on to try and see how much I can find out. My friend has promised me tours around all news sets.

Can you take a camera!? Get some decent pics of the studios? If you are getting a "personal" tour, I'm sure they wont mind as they know your not planning to blow anything up. Please.

Well this doesn't give much away about the studio or anything - but hear what George told me about his views on the content...

I dont think the promo has anything to do with the look of the Six o'clock news because another promo this time for Breakfast featuring Natasha Kaplinsky and Dermot Murnaghan was shown after the sunday 10pm News on BBC One and it was almost exactly the same as the 6 news one including the white background and the presenters talking about themselves and the news and looking at the camera at the end.

And there was a promo for the 10 o clock news with Huw Edwards after the Milosevic programme on BBC2 last night. Same style as the other trailers with Huw talking against a white background.

That must mean BBC News are going to use those white titles they use in the daytime, I hope not, I like beige and china red!

I hope not too - those daytime titles look really tacky. My feeling is that they'll keep the current titles with just perhaps a few minor alterations to the set. They don't need to change the titles - they're certainly not out of date yet.
