BBC News Pre-Launch Promo

Well I think what there wearing has something to do with it. It's very informal and a bit more relaxed. I have a fealing that perhaps the white background has got something to do with it but I'm not sure. I heard the BBC wanted to get more red involved so I'm not sure how these Daytime Bulletin Titles came in.

As for the studio they could use it, I mean watching Hardtalk you see what they do. Turn all the lighting off etc. Change the view on the projected screens, the plasma and bung a few more plasmas in and cover the desk in black something and away you go. Barely recognizable as the news studio.

Of course the ad has probably got nothing related to the promo at all.

Listening to the music too there seems quite relaxed but I dunno, ready to go! If those MP3s which supposidly filtered out of a BBC server a while back are genuine then they would perhaps fit in the same sort of genre as that used in the promo.

Well they're obviously going for the (in no way dumbed down, of course ) laid back, friendly feel to the show. I wouldn't expect much to change, they've been going this way for a while now, what with all those dodgy things that usually involved a tacky looking 3D "6". Maybe (hopefully) some new titles. I wouldn't be surprised if the inset was to disappear altogether (insets are soooooooo 2002) in favour of using the big screen etc. Also, we all know how much the BBC love to copy Sky - we might see some more dynamic looking graphics.

Don't go expecting a radical overhaul for the entire output of BBC News. The 10 O'Clock News will probably be just the same as present, as will the 1 O'Clock too.

lol! I wouldn't read so much into a small advert for it. Its most probably a white background because theres nothing really better that they could do. The music is probably something they have had on file ready to use. Think about the BBC Four News Promo. George Alagiah walking through the promenade of an Old building with Pillars. He didnt present BBC Four News in a thick coat with his hands in his pockets did he?

No he didn't but the whole context of the ad reflected what the show was to bring. And well it does - I never watch it because it's something from BBC FOUR.

Oh how I love all this speculation...
all I can say is that I'm sure you'll have a lot more to say after the news presenters start.

I really hope you're reading too much into that. I hate the daytime presentation, it looks really bad and is too simple.

I wouldn't be supprised if it was the new look though. What's the point in having one look for the Daytime news and one look for the rest?

Will there be new music?
Will there be new titles?
