when did it start? (October 2003)

Since using the News Multiscreen facility on Freeview, I have found that the thing that annoys me is that when exiting from the application (that is, pressing the Red, Text or Quit buttons on your remote), you are taken to News 24, rather than going back to the channel you selected the Multiscreen application from (as it does on the DSAT version).

Whereas when the Interactive programmes are on, you can Quit from the interactive application you are using (usually carried on 701/702), and can return to the channel that you was watching at any time.

I think the weather would be useless - how on earth are you going to be able to see the map! Very Happy

Havn't we been through this a few hundred times before?

The BBC are not allowed to launch any more normal TV channels.

I'm well aware of that - when did I say there should be BBC services on the channel? The BBC are, imo, wasting most of their second multiplex. Those 2 interactive screens could house 2 more full time channels. I'm the first to acknowledge that there's a limit to what you can expect for free, but nevertheless I don't welcome what could potentially be 2 whole channels being wasted on interactive provision. On a platform like DTT, where space is extremely limited, interactive should be kept to an absolute minimum (come on, it's a gimick, nothing more. Only full blown services like Sky News Active are actually useful, and DTT will never have anything like that) and should never be allowed to take precedence over provision of basic TV channels.

I agree...space for a couple more channels instead of interactive gimmicks.
A cynic might say the Beeb had done this to stop more competition on Freeview.....no...not Auntie.....surely?

I quite like their interactive things. The BBC News Multiscreens aren't wasting any space at all because they fill the leftovers of BBC Parliament. The two full screen BBCi feeds are perhaps a waste (one could become a channel, another could become two interactive feeds in one) but I really enjoy doing the interactive quizzes and stuff so I'd like these channels to stay.

At the start of the thread I posted that I was having trouble with Poor Signal Quaities with it stopping and starting and whatnot.
I was told because some boxes don't support it.
I have an iDTV - is there a way I can get it so I can watch it nicely.
When I press 'i+' on BBC Parliament I see the three screens all nice and dandy, and they work fine there with no sound, but when I switch over it goes all funny. Sad
Do I have to sit and wait, or nver look at it again?
A few days ago, about a week or two I think, it worked, but when I had watched that for a bit and changed to another channel, then gomne back on it didn't work.

If you can sort out my little dilemma, it would be appreciated.
Ta,
Joel.

the short answer is no.

you have to wait until either the bbc fix this or the manufacurer of your IDtv to fix this.
