Havn't we been through this a few hundred times before?

The BBC are not allowed to launch any more normal TV channels.

The BBCi streams are getting a lot of use at the moment and there is no reason to scrap them for BBC Parliament which not only has much lower ratings than things like the Fame Academy Streaming (one presumes) bbu the BBC don't actually care about the channel so it's hardley going to get a whole channel to itself when they can provide other serivces alongside.

Ok, so we have those 2 News 24 loops now, is that it? I thought there were going to be 7 mini screens in total. That’s still the case right........or not? I thought the others were going to be the Liquid Loop, and sports one, the entertainment one etc. When will these come then?

I expect only Sky will have those.

I hear the new MHEG spec is going to allow for the screens to be moved around though so they *might* just be able to squeeze a third one on.

I'm well aware of that - when did I say there should be BBC services on the channel? The BBC are, imo, wasting most of their second multiplex. Those 2 interactive screens could house 2 more full time channels. I'm the first to acknowledge that there's a limit to what you can expect for free, but nevertheless I don't welcome what could potentially be 2 whole channels being wasted on interactive provision. On a platform like DTT, where space is extremely limited, interactive should be kept to an absolute minimum (come on, it's a gimick, nothing more. Only full blown services like Sky News Active are actually useful, and DTT will never have anything like that) and should never be allowed to take precedence over provision of basic TV channels.

Perhaps they should use 701/702 to show more. After all - the only regular programme on there is sport interactive and perhaps this sounds slightly selfish - but who wants to have the scores on all the time - perhaps BBC ONE should just show it at regular intervals.

Well, I used Powerpoint to do it but it was too large for MrToms upload site so I squashed it in Paint, thats why it looks so bad. Mad

Yup, but BBC News Active is actually in 4:3 on DTT.
