In Scotland one morning during the regional news in the old Breakfast News, there have been several odd goings on in the back ground.

1) Cleaners dusting

2) Two men standing right behind the news reader having a chat and cup of coffee sitting on the desks

3) A cleaner hoovering!

On North West Tonight a few months ago, Martin Henfield was resting on his hand and looking down at the desk after a report, and it looked as if he was sleeping! He didn't realise that he was on air and after about 3 seconds, he said, 'Sorry, just taking a nap!!!'

Also, the Breakfast presenter, Nigel Jay always makes stupid comments about anything! For example, one morning after the regional weather forecast, he said, 'Ah well, not the sort of day for a picnic then (raised eyebrow). Back to Jeremy and Sophie...'

And yet another time, about 2 months ago, the BBC North West Today team lost the weather map and graphics, so the weather presenter, Heather Stott, had to sit next to Gordon Burns and READ us the weather from her ready prepared 'technical' script...talk about boring!!

The same afternoon, during the BBC TWO summary, all video material was lost for some reason, so Gordon Burns had to fill in for about 2 minutes, so he turned round, looked at the shot of Manchester and said 'Not a pleasant day is it?'!!

but how would you get a chance to record them as they are spontaneous and how many people actually record a 24 hour news channel?

HI
There was just a mistake on the late Look North with Ian White.
During the weather at the end, Ian white started laughing, he said everything was going wrong upstairs.
He then finished the show about 5 seconds early, we saw him shuffling his papers before going back to Peter Sissons!

Peter Sissons must have made some sort of mistake tonight. At the end, he said 'and sorry for my dodgy timekeeping earlier' or something. I don't know what he meant, because I had been watching Father Ted.

Also, once on NorthWest Tonight when handing back to London, presenter Stuart Flinders must have been a bit early, because you could hear him say to the weather presenter 'God, I never know who to hand back to in London, so I just say Back to London now' just before Huw Edwards reappeared.

I watched the Ten O'Clock News last night. Because it was delayed, when it came time for the regional news, he couldn't say 'Its 25 past 10', he said 'Its 24 miuntes to 10' when it was actually 10:35. He thought he was an hour early!

He was probabally dreaming of his '9`oclock news' days when the days were long and everyone was a lot happier!

Yes I noticed!

BBC North West are always having mistakes:

I remember, over Christmas 2000, when the normal schedules were suspended, the announcer and titles did not get on:

At lunchtime, the announcer said 'Now on BBC One, North West Today with Nigel Jay' and was followed by the North West Tonight titles and side bar!!

In the evening, the Announcer said 'Now on BBC One, North West Tonight with Martin Henfield' which was then followed by the North West Today titles!!

Martin Henfield apologised for all the troubles in their late evening broadcast!

Was anyone watching N24 when that bomb went off last month. I tuned in about an hour later and all though they were still running it was BBC WORLD and it was all cocked up.
