Whilst flicking through my tape of last night's N24 junctions I noticed this on the BBC News Interactive trailer: What appears to be the discontinued 1999 BBC World top-of-the-hour ident in one of the squares!

A bit of zooming in confirms this .. curious! Were the designers running out of idents to run in the boxes? Or are we going to get BBC World as a 'press red' option (j/k) http://web.ukonline.co.uk/tv.home/forum/emoticons/cheesy.gif

I noticed this ages ago! I doubt we'll get any of there Idents, must be because they ran out, just like you said!

I suppose they used it on the assumption that viewers didn't record overnight junctions on News 24 to watch them back the following Friday. How stupid the BBC are nowadays! http://web.ukonline.co.uk/tv.home/forum/emoticons/biggrin.gif

If you look at the trailers which promote the correspondents ie Ben Brown, Rageh Omar, then you'll see the World background on the News 24 version of the ad!

Yes, and correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Gavin Esler in the BBC One Newsroom and not News 24's?
