The BBC helped to create 'Interactive Technology'. In fact the R&D department were the first in the world to experimenting with it long before DigiTV came about.
I think you'll find that when BBC went on DigiSatellite, they were actually first to offer 'Interactive' services, but only as an experiment. BBC Choice simulcasted a football match which was being shown on BBC1. On Choice, you had a choice (ha ha!!

) of the full televised match, or watch a camera at either end of the ground.
I think everyone (or most, except Chesh me thinks!) will accept that the BBC do not go ahead with things until it is right. They don't launch something just becasue the technology allows them to.
