We know something odd is happening with BBC News, The Morning Show, Six O'Clock News, New Presenters, New style trailers for Breakfast and Six O'Clock News using predominant white colourings.

Whatever this means, it is something to look out for, and so I have opened this thread to discuss probable and possible changes to expect.

Here is a quick idea of what I think will change...

Basically it uses the new BBC News Morning Summary Ident look, and uses it for all bulletins, but the colours get darker as the day goes on, to add some distinction, but still keeps the red, black and white which is used in the new straps and only the beige need go...

If it isnt like this, I still think the morning summery style ident is the future for BBC News...

I promised I wouldn't dangle the carrot so I'm not going to admit anything not yet released to the public. There are changes in the works, that's for certain, but you'll just have to wait to see them... Wink

Although now that I think about it, I just did dangle the carrot... Oh well... Laughing

Why do people always dangle carrots, I mean I could think of lots of other things that could be dangled Wink .

Anyway, they are very nice designs mdta, somehow I don't think the changes will go that far, but I have nothing to dangle so I could be proven wrong Rolling Eyes

No reason in particular... Although I agree, there are certain things I don't mind dangling. Laughing

Filth! Cool

The music will have to stay pretty similar, or remain unchanged, in order for the headline beds not to sound so disjointed when they opt to the regional headlines -- where some have been the same since 1999. Wales Today will sound pretty pathetic if the 6 O'Clock News has some fresh 2003 theme, similar to the current Breakfast one in style. It'll be obvious since the WT theme starts within 3 or 4 seconds of the 6 News one ending. Then again, perhaps they will make the transfer to the regional headlines less abrupt, or do away with it?

In fairness, perhaps the point is to set apart the flagship national programmes from the regional ones and other programmes, political ones etc. If it ends up looking anything like the designs above, Wales Today [and the other 2 nations, but less so] will probably get the kick up the back side to change their titles, to something a little less meek.

Is BBC NEWS 24 changing? It's long overdue.

I really hope so, I hope the changes in BBC News, also bring about a change of graphics, titles and vamps to BBC News 24, IMHO, BBC News 24 is the one that really needs a graphics overhaul!

I doubt they'll make any changes to the regions - they had a revamp only recently (however BBC LDN really needs their plasma screens replacing: they flicker all the time)

I hope to got that they get rid of that theme tune, awful- never liked it, hate it!
I also hope that 6'o clock new is much less American, it's going down that road.
And I hope for a better studio.
Do I Hope for to much?

I did these a bit ago. And not to change this into a mocks thread, but they follow a bit more closely the new regional news titles.

Well, I didn't suggest they should change the English regions, or LDN -- because as you said, they were only revamped last September [and LDN still sounds decent]. They would still fit in with any new music that BBC National News may have.

I said that the nations need revamping -- they have been the same for well over 3 years now, since October 1999, and if you're familiar with the WT theme and titles, you would agree they look very dated compared to any nice bold changes that perhaps may resemble the mocks above.

Having said that I'm also lead to believe that the WT isn't changing in the near future. But perhaps they could take on the 2W News theme -- I quite like that. But that's a bit fast for the existing titles.. Confused

What about new location names on the 10 titles? Jakarta and Belgrade are extremely out of date.

What would they be replaced with? I would say perhaps Baghdad (like Belgrade was in 99, it's now the centre of a coming conflict) but I am not sure about the other one.
