Maybe they could replace the word LIVE with EARLIER?

The new location graphic just looks awful. It's too small, the text is too low down, it doesn't align with the tower on the left hand side, and the font doesn't match anything else on the screen.

This makes some sense I suppose - I've noticed several graphical changes to News24 recently that it's evident they are tweaking as they go along.

The only criticism I would make, is that regional stories aren't *always* being given the prominence we were perhaps led to expect.

Noticed they were using the animating backdrop the other day (the one with the red/orange/black swirls behind a two-way video) but had gone back to the still yesterday.

Must admit I felt a bit sick watching the animated one but it did look cool.

Perhaps they should keep it, but slow the animation down a lot - this would stop the nausea!

The problem is, it was the constant 'tweaking' of the previous look which left it looking like a hotch-potch mis-aligned mess. Now they've started titting up the new look.

On the plus side though, I noticed today a BBC Sport graphic which had been moved to the right so the tower wasn't obscuring the first 'B'.

There was a good bit the other day with Jane and Simon McCoy. It came back from a report and they both sat there for a second looking surprised. Jane said, "I'm speechless!" and Simon said rolling his eyes, "Makes a change!" Laughing

Anyhoo. There has a been a lot more banter on N24, the other day 3 of them sat there chatting away for a while on nothing really important. I can't remember what they were saying but I remember laughing,

There was quite a bit of entertaining banter this morning between Simon McCoy and Anna Jones. She seemed much more relaxed than with the rather starchy Philip Hayton.

I get the feeling Phil Hayton is awful to work with to be honest. And exactly is Simon McCoy's role there anyway?

They should have done something like this:

And when the report was recorded earlier, just get rid of the "LIVE" and make the box smaller.

Surely the easiest way of doing it would be to swap the LIVE graphic and the location strap from where they are at the moment.

That way, the LIVE DOG would sit on top of the Tower (and could be easily got rid of when re-running the footage), and the location text would appear at the top of the screen, aligned with the tower, but without having to squash up the text so much.

Benjy's solution also would work well.

Surely their graphics people can see it looks crap as it is!

Either that or have the mini location thingy under the live graphic. The current setup is not very good.
