I must say it was great to see the globe spinning from other geographical areas, perhaps the director who was on at the time was doing it in conjunction with the BBC News 50th anniversary tomorrow!

By the way, did anyone get any caps or videos please from the globe spinning today please??

Keep an eye on that N24 globe from 0900 tomorrow morning Wink

Just a red version of the current titles?

They've changed them red, made them more 3D and given them a nice silver '24' like the national news. This change isn't just for the 50th anniversary though.

No they're to bring them in line with the nationals titles ... and I did say it wasn't that major

Yep, and about time too! I think they look a lot better than the orange ones, mainly because they fit in more with the red studio, and they look more 3D. I also like the silver '24' - again, makes it look more like the national news.

Ah i see - from the way you said it Nicky I was expecting some 50 Years special titles or something, not a refresh to bring it in line with BBC National News. They do look nicer than the orange ones.

Excellent Factfile just gone out on 24. Bit Working lunch, but really good use of the screens. Grabs to follow

Looks much better IMO. I always thought the orange and yellow titles looked a bit odd considering everything else on the channel was red and white.

Has World done the same?

I must be the only one who doesn't like it! The red globe looks garish and the rendering still doesn't look quite right (actually I think I preferred just the smooth ball globe they used before). The old 24 looked dynamic somehow, and I don't think the fact that it was yellow mattered - it just served to differentiate it from the national news bulletins. I liked the over-lapping sides of the stylised numbers - they looked good - now it just looks boring. Sorry, but I think it was better before!

Also they haven't yet updated the swirling graphics in between the headlines. Does anyone know if World has changed as well?

No, World have kept their orange titles so far. Whether that's because there are many more idents to change for World, or that they aren't changing, I'm not sure.

I'm really impressed with the updated titles - they look a lot better than the old ones, and indeed, the ones World are using still. I presume the N24 half heads ident has changed as well?
