*GASP* No one thread can contain ALL £400 million of BBC News!
The thread will collapse I tell you!

What is the point? If you are going to start a thread then surley it should have some foundations for discussion - other than "BBC News"?

Oh come on guys, TELEVISION as he's so brilliantly called has given the Forum a precious gift. And what do you do? Throw it in his face.

When are News 24 going to fix that sport graphic where the first B of BBC keeps getting cut off by the tower? Someone said that was going to be fixed on the first weekend after the relaunch but it's still like it now (or was last time I saw it over the w/e).

Were also led to believe that getting the projector screens to look less washed out was to be a priority, but still no change.

However, in the last couple of days, I've noticed the colour imbalances between the different cameras seems to have been sorted. The shot of the presenter standing up doing the :30 headlines roundup, etc. no longer has that funny brown tinge. Smile

I think there should be a separate thread for News 24 and the rest of BBC News. Keep this one for BBC News and rename the News 24 Relaunch thread to just News 24 thread.

Any sign of the new 1/6/10 titles?

EDIT: Just notice N24 relaunch thread closed. Does everyone else think we should have a different thread just for N24?

I think it all competes in realms of silliness along with the whole 'Backing the BBC' thing.

I don't think it's possible, there's just too much ambient light and they can't go varying the levels in the newsroom behind, and requiring the levels be adjusted in the set is just asking for trouble - I'm sure the gallery have plenty to worry about already. A better idea would be to have one of the second sets dimmer, perhaps a darker scheme generally, and for fact files and whatnot to be done from there.

Does anyone know how racks is done on N24? Surely with the few people present in the gallery at any one time, there wouldn't be enough spare hands to sort out correct racking levels for the camera levels. Also when would there be time for camera lineup in front of the greyscale chart??

No one does the racks in News24. The theory is that modern cameras don't drift so do not need racking. They occasionally have a lighting engineer in to adjust cameras and lighting, but this is done on a very irregular basis. Cameras are never lined up on a grayscale chart.

World have a similar set up, although they have a director assigned to rack cameras for the BBC4 programme. However cameras are never lined up
