Is the Liquid News studio the one that was used for CBBC in between the broom cuboard era and moving down to Studio 9?

Don't think so - I think Liquid were the first people to use it after it was re-built after News moved out. Liquid moved up there when they moved from their original set, to the all projectors set. (They are now on their third, all plasmas, set)

The original Liquid News studio IS now the home of the CBeebies links though...

Yeah - after the broom cupboard CBBC came from Pres Studio A on the 4th floor - which then had the weather next to in Pres Studio B. Then weather moved out to the 2nd floor weather centre. After Pres had moved to the new NTA on the 2nd floor CBBC were the only people left on the 4th floor until they moved into TC9.
Now, of course, the 4th floor is the DTA and the Multi Stream Area (where CBBC, CBeebies and Three are tx'd from) is in effect in the roof of those two old studios on a mezzanine floor!

Yep - didn't things like Whistle Test and The Sky at Night also come from the Pres A or B studios?

It is a very contemporary design; probably a prelude of the future news centre behind Broadcasting news. Does anyone know who design that building?

Ooooooooh, December 1st in the confirmed date for the new look as written in todays Media Guardian. Simon McCoy also joins news 24 as well as presenting on Breakfast from time to time. The article says Sissons and Sopel will also front the new channel.

More details on the Broadcasting House make-over.

Looks like they're using the name "W1" rather than Broadcasting House - presume W1 will refer to the whole complex where BH will just be the old bit.

Here's another picture...

Mediaguardian Article

There must be quite a pay packet! (Also the article mentions a 1st December start)

To sum up, he'll be a "roving reporter" for breaking stories (the new emphasis promised perhaps?). He'll also be standing in for Dermot as well as Bill whatsit for Breakfast too

Isn't Broadcasting House a listed building, and therefore major building work such as a huge extension would not really be allowed?

My house in west Wales is in a National Park and we need planning permission and National Park permission if we were to build an extention or something. Rolling Eyes
