Well I've just heard that BBC News are auctioning things off for Children in Need. You can bid for the Breakfast With Frost sofa, Sophie Raworths dress, George Alagiah's pen, Huw Edward's Opera CD, or to go down and meet the Breakfast team in the gallery. But best of all you can be the

That's a fantastic idea - they could auction off Dermot and Wollydoodah - I wonder how much they'd get for them.

"If only they'd let us have a practice run," said a rather downcast studio bunny. Yep, it's been decreed that the first time they try and produce a programme from the new place will be when it goes live in about three weeks. No dummy runs. No test news. Just the red light and cue the presenter.

From read the link James posted I'm thinking...

"Virtual Newsroom, Virtual Backdrop, Virtually Nothing Special"

But to be honest I don't see how a set can really effect "normal" viewers (not us weirdos) I mean mates don't say "I'm not watching Sky news because I hate that big TV in the background" So I suspect most of the 1M will go on new technology and staffing, probably more OB stuff by the sounds of it they want N24 to have national and regional coverage as well as global.

Still 1st December it is, wonder if they will have any Christmas trees up?

When I read it I got the idea the writer meant he was in a virtual studio while the new studio was being built... could be wrong as ever.

In that article, the man desribes the studio as being in the basement - so is TC10 in the basement,or was he just confused?

Yes, AFAIK, TC10 is lower down - N24 is at the top of the News Centre IIRC. I also read the article as describing TC10, given that he was doing the interview last week, and News 24 have been in TC10 for about a month!

TC10 is on the sixth floor so actually higher up than the News Centre.

Aah - what's that guy talking about then, unless he's just saying that TC10 looks like the basement!
